Personally, overall i am not that big a fan of the overall HMO system but really it is not any worse than any other insurance you can buy.
They all give you certain restrictions on who you can see without your plan and be covered by it or which hospitals you can go to or which treatments are covered.
The problem in my estimation is not any particular insurer as much as the regulations on them being too loose.

I am not familiar with the particular problem you have with it. I am sure some of the HMOs work better than others however i will need you to be more specific on the mechanism if i am to speak to the point.
