@MadHabber93 I’m not trying to be disrespectful, but seriously, if you’re happy with your universal healthcare, good for you. But the majority of Americans don’t want it in America. Sure, they want healthcare reform, but what Obama tried enacting is not good for America. I don’t understand how any Canadian could be ok with waiting that long for treatment.. But honestly, if you’re saying the ideals of the Founding Fathers are dead, then the Republic is just as dead.

it isn’t any different in the USA…I waited 5 hours to get into the hospital with my grandma so I don’t know if universal healthcare will seriously make that worse.

And yes I am an American. One who supports rights provided in the Constitution and believes in the American Dream ideals where if you work hard enough and have the right skills, you CAN succeed. I also believe that Thomas Jefferson’s quotes that “The policy of the American government is to leave their citizens free, neither restraining nor aiding them in their pursuits.” and “The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”

@canascot02 I do believe that people should have healthcare, but it should be earned, not handed to them. I don’t think anyone should get anything handed to them for free (unless it is a right stated in a law), especially at the expense of others. You should work for what you get shouldn’t you?
I can understand supporting children with free healthcare, but after you’re an adult, and have made the choices to either succeed or fail in life, you shouldn’t be a liability for others.

dont listen to this guy. Were I live we have free health care and everyone loves it. Look this this video as his friend goes to the hospital with a sore wrist, it isnt broken no bruise and hes not in any real pain. If you went to any hospital in the world like that they wouldnt care. The second guy that is looking a blood test doesnt have a family doctor, any knowledge of how to go about getting a blood test and he hasn’t made an appointment or any thing. Couldnt be watching the rest.

The middle class has seen its taxes go down during this administration. The healthcare bill didn’t change that.

@MadHabber93 Why not solve the reasons on why they can’t afford healthcare instead?.. Honestly, I don’t think its right to force people to pay higher taxes so that 32 million get the same healthcare at SIGNIFICANTLY lower prices, while the middle class gets screwed in the ass. I think the fact that Americans are so unhealthy is a valid point. The problems that come with it can cause some of the “pre-existing conditions”. That could be a reason why insurance providers don’t accept them.

@Cosmo1093 Most are uninsured due to cost and pre-existing conditions. And yes, that number will be dropped to 15 million without….but that is still 15 MILLION without insurance. Yes, you are right, Americans should and could be healthier, but that’s not the point. And from what I’ve read, those 32 million sure aren’t being ‘given’ that insurance.

@MadHabber93 Well, how come those 47 million are uninsured? (Besides, 15 million will remain uninsured.) Shouldn’t Obama be going at the roots of poverty instead of throwing people’s hard earned money at it? How about fixing the “1/3 of Americans are overweight” problem instead? Wouldn’t that make Americans healthier and then maybe they wouldn’t have those “pre-existing” conditions? Should the middle class be taxed into a lower standard of living as a result of giving 32 million healthcare???
