    18,000 Americans …
18,000 Americans without Healthcare die each year. If they died from terrorism the Republican’s would take action because it would allow them to continue to feed the military with their never ending corporate welfare.

    What a joke!

    Obama ALMOST lost …
Obama ALMOST lost his cool? He did lose his cool. He should’ve taken a smoke break. He is still addicted to nicotine, you know. Oh and his wife has declared war on childhood obesity …so he can’t quit yet unless he grows up or she ends the war. =-)

  3. kade0868 says:

    This guy doesn’t …
This guy doesn’t know anything – the 109th congress tried to pass a bill called the Health Care Choice Act – it would have made health care a lot cheaper. But guess what the House bill and the Senate bill were both killed in committee – who voted against it.. Barack Obama

  4. hadenufnow says:

    I have found that …
I have found that even the Democrats DO NOT WANT this bill since it CUTS HALF TRILLION from MEDICARE…and that means their own grandma and grandpa…THEY want no part of it…
HIS OWN do not want this..
IT BE POISON TO HIS OWN….
Dems, Repubs, Ind’s do not want ANY PART of this thing or any version of blomacare..never did,,never will…

  5. hadenufnow says:

    LOOK,
    Nobody …

    LOOK,
Nobody wants ANY version of a TAX & JAIL TROJAN HORSE MANDATE to buy 118 IRS Stlye Beaurocratic $350k/yr CRONIE outfitted agencies that come between YOU & YOUR doctor. and according to ALL the CBO comgressional Budget Numbers are totally unsustainable by a factor of 6 to one minimum…ACTUAL…
ONLY chumps that can’t add will fall prey to such a ridiculous idea that if you’re hurtin now, by making it TEN TIMES worse you’d somehow be better off…
    ….CHUMPS….

  6. nobama6 says:

    Ask the Japanese …
Ask the Japanese how they feel about the Atomic bomb.

  7. nobama6 says:

    One aspect of the …
One aspect of the Republican response is tort reform, but guess what? Democrats oppose it because lawyers have democrats in their pockets. You can play the game all day long, but in the end, both parties are screwing us over. The only difference today is that we have a complete milquetoast president in office that ignores the real problems (economy, jobs) and focuses on ones that have less impact (healthcare). I’m all for healthcare reform, but let’s do it in a way that doesn’t bankrupt us.

    Cry me a river.

    Cry me a river.

December of 2008, my wife of 27 years had a serious illness. Nearly 60% of her trachea was blocked by scar tissue. I work behind a drill rig for a small company and am no longer able to purchase health insurance because of the high premium rates.

Long story short, our medical bills were over $60,000. We worked out a deal with the different doctor groups involved. We are paying the minimum payments, but WE are paying, not you.

Government handouts are not the answer.

  9. paulr00 says:

    I don’t know about …
I don’t know about healthcare, but that news anchor was hot!

  10. trishgrv says:

    Do some research …
Do some research into socialized medicine in Canada and western Europe. Those that are deemed by the government to have only a 50-50 chance of survival are out of luck. A dislocated shoulder waits a yr in Canada. Cancer surgery can wait months. Preemies die in their mothers arms in ENGLAND if the government decides there’s not a great chance for survival. We have the greatest health care system in the world. Those from Canadians and western Europeans come HERE for medical care. Why is that?

  11. trishgrv says:

    Anyone notice how …
Anyone notice how dems keep changing the number of uninsured? 16 million. ummm. 30 million! ummm. No, it’s 45 million and growing! No illegals are covered! ummm, well, 10-15% of the ‘uninsured’ are illegals who get health care at any of our emergency rooms, driving hospitals out of business. College students getting health care at their school. People who don’t want to buy health insurance. the dems will fine them of course. all adds up to about 8%. that doesn’t need to cost a trillion dollars

  12. trishgrv says:

    Wall Street …
Wall Street overwhelmingly contributes to dems. Including obama. Why do you think that is? Insurance companies make only 3.4% profit. obama bails out AIG, and intends to again. Why do you think that is? Allow people to buy insurance across state lines so they have to compete against one another by setting the lowest price. It’s so easy. Portability. Tax breaks for individuals as well as small companies. The dems are being obstructionist to sneak in dirty deals in exchange for power.

  13. mikemk92 says:

    Does anyone see …
Does anyone see benefit of preventing Hospitals and big insurance companies from getting filthy rich off the American people while thousands die from denial of treatment? I’m not a Democrat or Republican. If anyone thinks if we want to change health care by allowing hospitals , doctors and insurance companies to decide how it done is terribly misinformed. You can’t improve what we have by allowing the market to take care of itself! We did that with Wall St. Remember know how that went?

  14. mikemk92 says:

    Trooper. Let’s say …
Trooper. Let’s say you have a child and that child is sick. Let’s say you’ve lost your job as many Republican and or Democrat citezen’s have experienced. You don’t have health insurance and likely can’t afford to pay your regular doctor for the childs treatment. In order to keep your kid alive you must go to the ER. Will the ER turn you away? NO! Will someone have to pay for the visit? Yes! The rest of us. Is it worth it to keep a child alive. Yes! To me anyway. Apparently not to you.

  15. dhinge says:

    I’m for universal …
I’m for universal health care and ridding health care of profiteering private middlemen, but until America gets off of its addiction to premium health care, the government will never be able to afford to cover everybody.

  16. QuietCalmPlace says:

    Why play some …
    Why play some charade?

Obama and the democrats have decided the role of government is to involve itself in socialized medicine as some sort of “right”. They will jam through this plan, no matter who is in favor or not.

Out of his own mouth, Obama said he will use reconciliation to “get this done” and let the voting outcomes in November 2010 be as they may.

Great! Let this move be the line in the sand by which We The People FIRE THEM ALL!

A ballot is more powerful than a bullet.

  17. TrooperRaven says:

    It sounds nice and …
It sounds nice and sweet for you to say that health care is a human rights issue, but that doesn’t make it so.

  18. TrooperRaven says:

What is it with you …
What is it with you bleeding heart liberals and your contention that health care is a “right”? It’s not a right.

  19. jtart51 says:

    Is EVERYTHING Obama …
    Is EVERYTHING Obama does “unprecedented”?

  20. DjReano says:

    I don’t know about …
I don’t know about the Atomic Bomb but i’m 100% supporter of nuclear energy but there have also been some positive things that have also came from the creation of the Atomic Bomb it brought an end to WWII and its given us world peace for the last 50+years so its not all negative.

  21. aewester says:

    We have the best …
We have the best healthcare in the world?
No. We actually have the 37th best system, according to the World Health Organization.
I think what you meant to say is we have the best healthcare in the world “IF YOU MAKE 100K A YEAR”.

Also, did you know that Cuba is ranked number 38 on that list, and that their life expectancy is longer than Americans’? And this is in a very impoverished country with an autocratic gov and starved ecnomy, and an embargo and siege imposed by the supremely powerful US

  22. aewester says:

    I happen to think …
I happen to think that the government runs the post office, fire departments, schools and universities (those with enough money allocated to them), libraries, etc. very well.

Not to mention the military and the massive high-tech research and development military programs that supply the private sector with much of its new technology (eg. the internet).

And are you forgetting about the highly efficient MEDICARE system? Doctors, patients, and nurses are all, overall, extremely happy with it.

  23. mkoziarski08 says:

    this commentary is …
this commentary is simply explaining politics and policy for dumbasses

  24. aewester says:

    Honestly, where the …
Honestly, where the were all you “conservatives” when Bush was getting us into the illegal, murderous and destructive wars in Afghanistan and Iraq?
You’re ok with the government spending billions (now trillions) of dollars on war, but not with funneling a significantly smaller amount to those without insurance
    Are you kidding me?
Yes, Obama, and his plan, are totally corrupt and corporatized (and coercive) and should be opposed…
But instead we should deny the poor access to healthcare?!

  25. toddolavi says:

    There is no HEALTH …
There is no HEALTH CARE CRISIS!
    We have an obescity crisis.
    We have an alcohol crisis.
We have a drug/ tobacco crisis.
    We have a laziness crisis.
    We have and entitlement crisis.
We have a i want you to pay for me crisis.
We have a tort reform crisis.
