I just recently found out I’m pregnant but I’m only about 10 days along and not showing at all. I haven’t even been to the OB/GYN yet. I desperately want an H1N1 shot and my local health department has them. I was just wondering if they will do a pregnancy test to determine if I am pregnant– and am still scared I had a false positive at home and if they do test, it will come out negative.
Has anyone had this dilemma? What should I do?
You can get one at the OB’s office. Just call your doctor and tell them you just found out you’re pregnant and you want the shot.
you should go to your OB and get the shot there. well hopefully they would have it. I had mine at my OB.
fyi, false positives are EXTREMELY rare. just take two pregnancy tests instead of one.

They require a signed note from your OB stating you’re pregnant in order to receive the shot. Call your OB and schedule your first prenatal visit, chances are, you’ll get the shot there.

This really depends on where you live. In the state in which I live, most OB-GYN’s do not have the vaccine yet. The health departments do and do not ask for proof of pregnancy. I would call the health department and ask them your question.
