Federal grants help even private schools. Also, you are contributing toward the education of people who will work for you, with you, or provide service to you. Don't you want to get correct change at the store? Yes, there is a lot of waste in government spending, but without taxes, we would have problems driving (no roads), crime would be much worse without the threat of punishment, and other problems.
