    @janz225 What is wrong with your sharing the wealth?? There are people who are struggling to make ends meet, so someone needs to help them find their way!! I hate to bring this up, but racism is still holding many Americans back!! I do wish that Obama would do more to address Black issues!!!!

    True healthcare …
    True healthcare reform for the states will in no way resemble the UK healthcare system because private companies will still have too much free reign. Our system is by no means perfect, but the principles of it are morally sound. The NHS and the government can drive a hard bargain with drugs companies otherwise they have no access to the UK market so this is part of the reason healthcare here is much cheaper. Also, an investors profits are not considered when healthcare policy is made.

    I’m confused to how I have worked so hard to get where I’m at and get what I have but now it’s a human right to have me pay for someone else that doesn’t want to…weird

    @afterism20 But I don’t think you will breal yet. Now I come along and tell you that you have to take care of 4 more kids TOTAL 8 kids, how will you pay for that? Right. More work to feed everyone. That is what this will bring. We are a broke nation now and we are now going to support 30 million more. I hope you understand the analogy, cuz you seem pretty intelligent. It may be right for you but not for us. Fix the big business greed.

  7. Toddinfantry says:

    @afterism20 Is your …
    @afterism20 Is your system really that good? And how much of every doller do you get to take home..50 cents on the dollar? I don’t need or want the gov’t this far into my life. This bill forces us to buy into it or go to jail. This bill takes away choice. Fix the ins companies, the fraud, the stupid lawsuits, all this drives the cost up. I don’t know you look at it like this. Say you have 2 kids and you are doing well. With no more pay to you I just added 2 more. OK you might bend here.

    @afterism20 The …
    @afterism20 The changes are already starting, we are now being told what to eat, how much you can weigh (and by gov’t standards Tom Cruise is OBESE). My problem is this, the more people who receive hand outs the more that the working have to pay, you said it yourself in above posts. So instaed of all tis gov’t crap why don’t you go down to the poor section and just write them a check. Same difference, you have money, they don’t, give some of yours to them. Why should anyone work?

    @afterism20 Exactly …
    @afterism20 Exactly what people over here don’t understand. They believe progress means not caring or giving to those who really need and benefit from a more equitable system, but instead they believe it will fix the system if we just extend the burden for an unhealthy population to the young, healthy, and jobless—excise taxes on high end policies got nixed cuz unions disliked it. You’re compass is perfectly intact. We, however, are in for deep if this is what passes for “progress”…

    Food is a human right. There is too much profit in the food business.
    Look at the corporations that grow most of the food in this country. Look at the corporations that own the trucks that transport this food. Look at the warehouse corporations, the food processing corporations, the corporations that package the food. Not to mention the advertising corporations and the corporations that sell the food. The retail corporations. There is too much profit made from providing this human right. Food.

    @ayethereztherub
    Well i’m certainly not a blind and deaf idiot for “change”- because I live somewhere that decided 60 years ago that every citizen deserves the right to equal access to healthcare. I can’t say I know what the funding policy is for Obama’s plan is but I can assure you the richest pay the most tax here (UK) so the poorest can get the care they need.

  17. afterism20 says:

    @Toddinfantry It …
    @Toddinfantry It concerns me because issues which affect other people are of concern to me, also I am a medical student so I know how the “socialised” healthcare system works in the UK. I don’t understand why you think that having healthcare from the state means restriction of freedom. If we want to see change in our healthcare we vote for it, as it is the NHS is more than 60 years old and is a cherished institution. Regulation of care happens whether it’s private or state-run, same difference.

    The political …
    The political climate on Capitol Hill is so bad now that certain GOP Senators and Congressmen are privately (although not publicly) expressing a genuine worry about the sanity of the President of the United States.

    Zero’s obsession with “health care reform” is being likened to the deranged Captain Ahab’s obsession with harpooning the White Whale in Herman Melville’s Moby Dick.

    “Neither Obama nor Reid nor Pelosi is playing with a full deck anymore,” one Senator tells me.

    @groundhog2008 No…no. you do not know a THING about the stock market.

    I am a day trader. I started out with 10k and now make enough to live off of. dont speak of something you know nothing about because ANYONE can make money off the market.

    What they need to do is legalize pot and thats all they need to do. it would save billions from not arresting and jailing and would make 100s of billions in taxes from growing/selling…not to mention creating jobs and taking the money from cartels.

  22. TAMARLANE says:

    Food is a human …
    Food is a human right. There is too much profit made in the food businsess. We must nationalize the food industry. Look at all the evil corporations making a profit from our food. Farming corporations, trucks and trains owned by big corporations. Look at the greedy corporations that profit from warehousing this food, the ones who profit from processing this food. The evil corporations that package and advertise and sell in these filthy corporate food stores. Down with corporate profit from food.
