I don’t know all that much about the healthcare reform, but from what I can tell, Obama is proposing a bill that will give people who can’t afford healthcare from the insurance companies the option of a government run healthcare plan that everyone in the country can access. While I’m not completely unbiased (although I try my best not to be), those are the bare basics I know about the whole situation.

there is no actual proposal. There are just a few amorphous ideas floating around, like a public option which would compete against private insurers, or some regulations regarding preexisting conditions, but everything’s sort of on and off the table at the same time.
